Ninety-seven years ago today, Yale professor Hiram Bingham III "discovered" the lost Inca ruins of Machu Picchu, Peru. Recently counted among the "New Seven Wonders of the World," Machu Picchu is one of the most amazing places I have ever had the privileges of visiting--and one of the places I would love to visit again.

This Day in History: Machu Picchu "Discovered"
Ninety-seven years ago today, Yale professor Hiram Bingham III "discovered" the lost Inca ruins of Machu Picchu, Peru. Recently counted among the "New Seven Wonders of the World," Machu Picchu is one of the most amazing places I have ever had the privileges of visiting--and one of the places I would love to visit again.
